STATEMENT OF SOLIDARITY
We, the Member Theatres of the Milwaukee Theatre Alliance, believe our art is a platform for good. It has the ability to speak out against wrongs and stand by and speak up for those who suffer. We will continue to be a voice in solidarity against racism and against a system that allows for the continued inequity, persecution and murder of Black, African-American, African, and Caribbean, Indigenous and Asian community members here in Milwaukee and across our country. American citizens George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Delaina Ashley Yaun, Paul Andre Michels, Xiaojie Tan & Daoyou Feng are just some of the many murdered and we stand in solidarity with those seeking justice.
We, the Member Theatres of the Milwaukee Theatre Alliance, know we can do better and will do better to support minority communities. We are actively working to make Milwaukee Theatre a more inclusive and diverse community and we strive to be better listeners. We are here for you. We hear you, we see you, we love you, and we support you. We are in this for the long haul.
