After the COVID-19 pandemic thwarted our hopes of yearly Non-Equity auditions comprised of MTA Companies, Independent Producers, and other companies around Milwaukee and beyond, we are pleased to announce they will be back this year.

2022 MTA Non-Equity General Auditions

Sunday, September 18th
9am-5pm

Monday, September 19th
5-10pm

NOTICE: AUDITIONS WILL NO LONGER BE HELD AT SUNSTONE STUDIOS

THE NEW LOCATION FOR YOUR AUDITION IS:

2204 W. Clybourn Ave., Milwaukee
(
There are big signs in the window that say "The Clybourn" is opening soon.)

MTA Signs and volunteers will direct you as to where you need to be.

  1. Auditioning is a skill. The more auditions you can attend help keep your skills fresh.

  2. There may be Producers who haven't seen you yet.

  3. Companies are still looking for actors to fill roles this season.

  4. You weren't able to make it to previous Generals this year.

  5. You want to try out new material.

  6. You didn't feel so great about your last audition.

  7. You're new to acting. Welcome!

  8. You're new in town! Welcome!

  9. We schedule our auditions a little differently...

We are an organization dedicated to the growth of the Milwaukee Theatre community in all its forms. For our auditions, you will have 7 minutes to not only perform your selections, but also allow you time to have a few breaths before your audition if you need, and also allow us to get to know you a little bit better.

YOUR AUDITION MATERIALS

Please prepare two (2) selections of contrasting contemporary monologues, OR one contemporary and 16 bars of a song, not to exceed 2 minutes and 30 seconds in total. We also highly encourage you to prepare a third piece from your repertoire just in case producers wish to see more of your work. SHAKESPEARE AUDITIONS WILL BE LATER THIS FALL.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BRING PHYSICAL COPIES OF YOUR HEADSHOT AND RESUME. We will use the electronic versions you submit through the audition form.

COVID Protocol

Out of an abundance of caution and despite fatigue, we will kindly ask you mask up when not auditioning to protect your fellow artists. If you do not have a mask, we can provide one for you. We thank you for your cooperation.

TO SIGN UP

For accessibility, there are two days of in-person auditions, and also a video submission option for those who are unable to attend in-person.

The sign up is now closed. For questions about future auditions, please email info@mketa.org.
